Call for Indigenous Participation

Program

The McCord Museum is seeking the participation of people of all ages from Indigenous communities to create a video for its exhibition Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience, which will be presented as of September 24, 2021.

The exhibition is proposing a genuine encounter with the hope of initiating a dialogue for better mutual understanding. In this spirit of encounter, the Museum wishes to collect brief testimonies recorded on camera in a studio about what a genuine encounter between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people involves.

The Museum would like to collect short answers (one word, one sentence, in the language chosen by the participant) to the following questions: How can we really encounter one another? A genuine encounter for me is…
The video will be presented at the end of the exhibition with a strong inspiring word from the Innu poet Joséphine Bacon.

The recordings will take place in Montreal, on Thursday, June 17 from noon to 7 p.m.

For more information or to participate, please contact Audray Charbonneau at communications@mccord-stewart.ca.
