Travelling Back in Time: Notman’s Photographs at the McCord Museum

The McCord’s Inside Stories

Follow Heather McNabb of the McCord Museum as she takes you back in time for an exploration of some of William Notman’s iconic “View” series images. These photographs were taken across Canada in the late 19th and early 20th century, and were sold as travel souvenirs in a time when amateur photography was not very common. Donated to the McCord Museum in 1956, these time capsule images of Canada captivated the audience from the time they first arrived.

Heather McNabb is a technician at the Photographic Services and Copyright.

The lectures from the series Tea at the McCord focus on the Museum’s collections and exhibitions.
The presentation will be in English followed by a bilingual question period.
Tea and biscuits will be served.
