Creative Streak: Creator and Material

As part of the Christian Dior exhibition, join a discussion on the ways in which luxury textiles influence the work of creators with designers Helmer Joseph and Elisa C. Rossow.

From silk organza to muslin and Turkish cotton, learn more about fabric choices, which must strike a delicate balance between the inspiration they provide designers and the many technical challenges they raise.

Montréal designer Helmer Joseph will explain how he selected textiles to recreate three haute couture gowns based on original patterns by the house of Dior for the McCord Museum.

Guest Speakers

  • Helmer Joseph, designer
  • Elisa C. Rossow, designer

Hosted Stéphane Le Duc, journalist at Dress to KILL magazine and professor at the ESG-UQAM École supérieure de mode.
