Pop Couture: Fashion After Cristóbal Balenciaga

Fashion at the Museum

Presentation by Luca Marchetti, professor at the ESG-UQAM École supérieure de mode, followed by a screening of the film Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? by William Klein. With the participation of Stéphane Le Duc, journalist/editor for Dress to KILL Magazine.

As part of the exhibition Balenciaga, Master of Couture, Luca Marchetti will discuss the late 1960s, a pivotal period for the world of fashion. Marked by pop culture’s influence on traditional haute couture, the post-1968 era saw a radical transformation in the perception of fashion.

William Klein’s film Who Are You, Polly Maggoo?, which will be screened following the lecture, takes a subtle, ironic look at this unprecedented disruption in the history of fashion.

Visit the exhibition, Balenciaga, Master of Couture for $9,50 only (taxes included). Special admission fee valid on Friday, August 24, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Please note that other exhibitions will be closed to the public.
