Dream the Future: Virtual Dance Workshop with Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli

As part of the Rêver pour créer, the Institut du Nouveau Monde presents a live virtual dance workshop with Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli, internationally renowned B-boy and ambassador for the project. A true master class that is free and open to everyone, whatever your level!

Learn more about Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli while you dance in your living room, and discover the meaning of his motto “no excuses, no limits”. During the workshop, you’ll also be invited to dream about Quebec society in the year 2040 and share your ideas on the platform reverpourcreer.ca.

The Rêver pour créer initiative was launched just before the pandemic in partnership with the McCord Museum. More than ever, we need the citizens of Montreal to imagine the future.

Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli

The last few years have been exciting for Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli as he shares his message about the power of adaptation and his passion for dance with an ever-growing world. As a loving husband to his wife, Melissa Emblin, and a devoted father to his daughter, Aura Isabella, he is committed to helping his children grow up in a society where people of all abilities can come together and share their passions despite their differences.

Over the past 13 years, Lazylegz has developed his career as a professional dancer by competing and performing in a wide variety of international shows. He remains active on the international scene as the current National Youth Ambassador for Dance for the Canadian Dance Assembly.

Lazylegz also co-founded the RAD Movement, formerly known as Project RAD, an inclusive urban dance program for youth with disabilities. In 2015, David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, recognized Luca and his partners Melissa Emblin and Marie-Élaine Patenaude with a Meritorious Service Medal for their dedication and commitment to creating a more inclusive society for people with disabilities.
