Passing away on July 31, 2017, just before her 90th birthday, the great French actress Jeanne Moreau left an indelible mark on cinematic history with a career spanning nearly 70 years. Coming of age in a puritanical society, the avant-garde and liberated actress challenged social norms both in her private life and in her onscreen personae, revolutionizing women’s portrayal onscreen. Her legacy includes many cinematic masterpieces. With its astonishing archival discoveries, this film is a brilliant portrait of Moreau as both woman and artist.

Special presentation for the exhibition Jean-Claude Poitras: Fashion and Inspiration. For the occasion, Jean-Claude Poitras will introduce the movie on this mythical actress and source of inspiration.
