Screening of Les guerres de Coco Chanel

Screenings

The International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) and the McCord Museum have organized a full program of documentaries on fashion, photography and artistic expression. There will be a screening with guests the last Thursday of each month. Mark it on your calendar!

Les guerres de Coco Chanel

Celebrated fashion designer Coco Chanel (1883–1971) fought many battles throughout her life, rising above her station as a labourer, resisting societal conventions and moral norms, and challenging her contemporaries. She even consorted with Nazis during the Second World War. Above all, she was driven to live on her own terms and make a name for herself.

This documentary looks at the business woman behind the famous designer, offering a portrait of a woman who constantly reinvented herself, carving her own path and creating her own legend. Coco Chanel saw herself as a fighter in a time of war—and of women’s emancipation.
