Curriculum

The suggested learning approach for the Web activity "Inquire into a past phenomenon" targets several skills and components from the different curricula.

Intellectual skills associated with the historical approach

• The ability to find diverse sources of information;
• The ability to interpret artifacts (and any attendant documentation) and to use them as sources of information in the context of an inquiry into the past;
• The ability to interpret maps, texts or graphs.

Overall, the ability to observe, identify, describe, question, discriminate, establish relationships and synthesize will be developed through this process of using artifacts to carry out an inquiry.

Curriculum-specific components

Specific components of the curricula may be targeted for the five following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec.
