Keys to History

The original of this giant promotional image measured about eight by seven feet. Commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway, it was made up of a central composite of passengers in a first-class sleeping car (21 x 30 inches) and five mammoth prints (18 x 22 inches) showing the interior of passenger cars, the whole being surrounded by fifty-one 8 x 10 photographs of views along the line from Quebec City and Montreal through Ontario and the prairies to the western mountains and down to the Pacific coast at Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.
