Description
David Ross McCord, the Museum's founder, composed this draft for a letter sent to Lady Laurier in 1919. McCord requested that she donate to his museum objects of historical importance belonging to her husband, Sir Wilfrid Laurier. This letter is from the vast McCord Family papers - thirteen running metres - which consist of a collection of correspondence, diaries and other documents dating from 1766 to 1945. These papers provide a unique window into the life of a Montreal family and their contemporaries over a 200-year period. Of particular interest is David Ross McCord's correspondence linked to his collection.
