Keys to History

For the first time in its sixty-four-year history, the British Medical Association decided to hold its meeting overseas. Montreal was chosen partly because a large number of medical doctors, including Sir William Osler and Dr. Joseph Lister, would be attending an international scientific conference in Toronto earlier that summer. Dr. T. G. Roddick, Professor of Surgery at McGill University, was president of the B.M.A. that year.
