Keys to History
On November 29, 1878 the St. Andrew's Ball took place in the new and richly furnished Windsor Hotel. It was attended by seven hundred kilted and gowned guests. The proceeds of the event went towards the charitable activities of the St. Andrew's Society in accordance with their motto "Relieve the Distressed", a sentiment that had been the guiding philosophy of the Society since its formations in January 1835.
