This small ambrotype shows the doll Lady Blanche Paulet completely outfitted for a walking or shopping trip. She is wearing her serviceable travel dress, woollen cape, tulle-trimmed straw hat and bronze leather shoes. She carries a small box in one pocket and a lace handkerchief carefully folded in the other. Hidden away behind the embossed brass mat of the photograph is a small aboriginal basket. The ambrotype is housed in a small velvet-lined wooden case covered with embossed and painted paper.
