Archives and Documentation Centre
Researchers from all fields of study can access part of the McCord Museum’s collections by consulting our online database or The Museum System, an even more complete computerized catalogue of our collection available on-site at the Archives and Documentation Centre.
Over 800 sets of documents, as well as a major collection of photographs, are available for public consultation. The Archives and Documentation Centre also offers users access to a reference library of 9000 works and specialized periodicals, in addition to the more than 2500 titles in its rare book collection.
The McCord Museum’s Archives and Documentation Centre is a private archives certified by the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ).
Rules and legislation
All visitors to the Archives and Documentation Centre must follow the Rules for Users of the McCord Museum Reading Room.

To use images from the McCord Museum’s collections, please consult the Photographic Services and Copyright page.
The Archives and Documentation Centre is open to the public, by appointment only, Tuesday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Archives and Documentation Centre will be closed from December 23, 2017 to January 8, 2018 inclusive.
The Archives and Documentation Centre is closed on legal holidays.
