Inuit – Ancestral Knowledge

Clientele: elementary, cycle 3 / secondary / welcome classes
Dates: full year
Duration: 120 minutes
Max. number: 60
Cost: $7,50 per student

The rich and complex culture of these people has flourished for more than 4,000 years in the Canadian Arctic. Their carefully made tools and garments reveal the ingenuity of the Inuit and their way of life in a harsh climate. They draw on their ancestors’ knowledge while continuing to evolve in the modern world. The shapes, designs and motifs they use reaffirm, among other things, their ancestral beliefs.

In the workshop, students make a print inspired by Inuit engravings.
