Hands-on workshop related to our exhibitions
Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every day from December 22 to January 6
Families are invited to enhance their visit to the Museum with a hands-on workshop. Featuring topics associated with our exhibitions and collections, these activities change with the seasons and the Museum’s programming. Free for children ages 3 to 12, workshops are presented in English and French from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Works in Paper
Sundays, until January 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parent-child workshops offer young and old a chance to explore, create and marvel. As part of the installation Shadows Without Borders by artist duo Mere Phantoms, children are invited to create paper cutouts using a technique inspired by shadow play. This activity introduces young artists to the theme of exile and the concept of «home.»
Recommended for adults with children ages 4 and older.
Stop-Motion Cartoon Wrkshop
Every day, December 22 to January 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sundays, January 13 to March 9, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As part of the Treasures in the Attic exhibition, children are invited to take part in a stop-motion cartoon workshop. With the help of a theatre set and pieces of toys that can be put together, young and old can indulge their imaginations as they learn the art of stop-motion animation.
Recommended for adults with children ages 3 to 9.
Free activity for children aged 12 and under. Limited places.
Location: Atrium of the McCord Museum.
