Screening of the film Leopardi, Il giovane favoloso

Related to the exhibition ELEGANZA: Italian Fashion From 1945 to Today, three screenings of Italian films are organized in collaboration with Montreal’s Italian Week.

Screening of the day

Leopardi, Il giovane favoloso by Mario Martone: Thursday, August 11 at 7:00 p.m. (Italian, subtitles to be confirmed)

Italy. 19th century. Born into an aristocratic family, he grew up under the relentless gaze of his father. Constrained to studies in the vast family library, he escaped into writing and poetry. In Europe, the world changes, revolutions erupt and Giacomo frees the shackles of his ultra-conservative father. Unhappy genius, ironic and rebellious, he will become, next to Dante, the Italian poet.
