The Next Generation of Chamber Musicians
The McCord Museum presents some of the Schulich School of Music’s most talented young artists. Be inspired and delighted by the variety of music and ensembles at these Schulich@McCord concerts.
The Mason Quartet was formed in 2015 at McGill University. The quartet has performed for audiences at McGill, the Montreal Masonic Memorial Temple and the McCord Museum, and has put on musical presentations for children at elementary schools in Montreal. At McGill, the group studies string quartet repertoire by composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Haydn, Mozart and Bartok, and has been coached by Professors Mark Fewer, Douglas McNabney and Denise Lupien.

To the program: String Quartet No. 14 “Death and the Maiden”, Franz Schubert
The Orison Winds are pleased to make their debut at the McCord Museum. Formed at McGill University, this group brings a wide range of experiences to the table, with members who have performed in groups such as Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, the Downwind Quintet, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Paramirabo, Pronto Music Chamber Orchestra, Tucson Symphony, l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and l’Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal. The Orison Winds dedicates this performance to David Maslanka, who passed away on August 6 this year.
