Alec Schulman Group
In this paired down setting, four friends form the McGill University Jazz Program come together to explore original compositions and jazz standards. Hailing from Los Angeles, Toronto, and the Montreal area, this award-winning ensemble draws on influences from the jazz idiom, including Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, and Keith Jarrett. The original compositions are inspired by not only the jazz tradition, but also from the diverse works of folk and classical music.
