Shalom Montreal Concerts: Oktopus
Oktopus is an instrumental octet dedicated to Eastern European music, transfigurating it with crazy arrangements. With their bows and keys, their valves and their mouths, the eight musicians thrill the audience and liven up the parties. With their music that exudes joy, Oktopus travels the world looking for evenings to immortalize, parties to celebrate, crowds to bring together and people to move.
Oktopus is a mix between the tunes from Eastern Europe, the legacy of the great classical composers and Québec songs making sort of a classical-Balkan Québec Klezmer. Oktopus is simply… spectatencular!
Location: Victoria Street, between Sherbrooke Street West and President-Kennedy Avenue
Every Wednesday of July and August, concerts in relation with the exhibition Shalom Montreal: Stories and Contributions of the Jewish Community are presented at lunchtime in the beautiful space of the Urban Forest.
