Montreal under construction! A design opportunity?

City Talks

The need for repairs and reconstruction has resulted in an abundance of construction sites in the city. Over the past few years, special attention has been paid to managing these sites in a way that makes them more tolerable, even pleasant, for citizens and merchants. Can construction sites be a part of the creative life of the city? How can we prepare for the impact of construction while planning projects for commercial streets in our neighbourhoods?

Speakers:

  • Jean Beaudoin, Architect and Art Director
  • André Poulin, Executive Director, Destination centre-ville
  • Patrick Marmen, chercheur, Researcher, UNESCO Chair in Landscape and Environmental Design at Université de Montréal

City Talks is a series of lectures bringing  together city thinkers  and builders to share their views on current practical urban issues affecting Montrealers.

The lectures are followed by an informal and friendly chat over a glass of wine.
Location:  J. Armand Bombardier Theatre at the McCord Museum
