A Week at the McCord Museum

For a fourth edition, the McCord Museum is raising funds to finance its initiative A Week at the McCord Museum.

The program, offered free of charge, makes a big difference in the life of Montreal children from disadvantaged communities who would otherwise not be able to visit the Museum. It allows them to change their daily routine and spend a week of fun, creativity and discovery.

In addition to learning more about their history, culture and society, these young people develop a sense of belonging and pride towards Montreal’s social and cultural heritage.

A Week at the McCord Museum is:

INTERACTIVE!
School children learn and expand their horizons in an interactive environment where they can undertake their own art project and examine the artefacts in the Museum’s collection.

SOCIAL!
The inclusive social surroundings foster learning. Brought together in small groups, the school children feel more at ease in sharing ideas and trying new things.

EDUCATIONAL!
The Museum’s Education Department works in close collaboration with the teachers to turn a regular classroom into a true centre of exploration and discovery.

AN EDUCATIONAL AND CREATIVE PROGRAM THAT LETS STUDENTS FROM DISADVANTAGED AREAS DREAM AND IMAGINE.

Thank you to Ivanhoé Cambrige and TFI International Inc. for their generous support which enables the students of a sixth grade class from the school École Saint-Clément, CSDM (Hochelaga Maisonneuve) to spend a week at the McCord Museum! Do as them and become an agent of change in your community. The children are counting on you!
